One Killed in VA Beach Motorcycle Crash
A collision in Virginia Beach has led to the death of one person. The July 10, 2018 accident occurred late in the evening when a motorcyclist collided with a car. Police report that the motorcyclist was heading westbound on Virginia Beach Boulevard when they struck a vehicle attempting to turn left onto Wexford Drive. The impact of the crash overturned the vehicle. Tragically, the motorcyclist died at the scene. Two other people involved in the crash sustained serious injuries. Reports indicate that they were rushed to the hospital but were fighting for their lives. No word has been given on their updated status.
Late Night Risk
Motorcycles are often difficult to spot in the roadway. They are smaller than most other vehicles on the road, and many motorcyclists tend to weave in and out of traffic unpredictably. Add in the reduced visibility of the evening hours and you’ve got a recipe for risk. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, so it’s not immediately clear who is at fault. Still, the lack of visibility likely played some role in the collision.
Legal Options for Victims
The family of the deceased may wish to speak with a Virginia Beach motorcycle accident lawyer about their options moving forward. Depending on the circumstances that led to the accident, they may have grounds for a wrongful death lawsuit. A consultation with an attorney can help clarify questions the family has about the incident and about what damages they may pursue on behalf of their lost loved one.
