Accidents like this one are incredibly traumatic for families, since there is so readily apparent reason for the crash. We hope investigators can determine the reason for the accident soon.

Speed was likely a factor in the accident, given that the incident occurred on the highway. Even minor movements of the steering wheel can send a vehicle off the road when it is traveling more than 60 miles per hour.

If you ever find yourself heading off road in an incident like this one, experts recommend you resist the urge to overcorrect. While your instinct is to grab the wheel and dramatically turn back to the highway, instead turn your vision to the direction you want to go and pause by letting your foot off the brakes and gas altogether. The recover by getting back into the correct lane. Remaining calm is key!
