Norfolk Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run Crash

Police are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit and run crash in Norfolk last night. Initial reports say that the incident occurred at the corner of St. Paul’s Boulevard and East Charlote Street around 10:40 the night of November 7, 2017. First responders found the victim lying in the street, and say the man died at the scene of the wreck.

The driver fled the scene of the accident before first responders could arrive. No information has been released about the kind of vehicle the suspect was driving. Details about the suspect’s identity have also not been released.

The investigation into this tragic accident continues. We send our condolences to the family of the man killed. Undoubtedly, they have a lot of questions about how this awful accident could have happened, and about their legal rights moving forward. We encourage them to reach out to our office of knowledgeable, experienced Virginia pedestrian accident lawyers for guidance.

Hit and run crashes are more likely to occur in the late night hours when visibility is low and people are more likely to drink and drive. Given the shorter days and the longer nights, it is possible that daylight savings time was a factor in this incident. Still, there is never any excuse for a person to flee the site of an accident. We can only hope police can track down the person responsible for this horrific crash and hold them accountable. Getting some justice for the family of the victim is the only way to make this right.
