Motorcyclist Hurt in Norfolk Crash
A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being involved in a wreck in Norfolk last week. The April 6, 2018 collision occurred around 11 AM in the 700 block of Newtown Road. Police say they were called to the scene when a car collided with the motorcycle, sending the biker off his vehicle. Authorities found him lying in the roadway with serious injuries. Officials transported him to the hospital for treatment of his life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car involved in the wreck stayed at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with police. They suffered minor injuries in the incident. Pending the results of the investigation into the crash, the driver may face charges.
The Investigation Continues
It’s not obvious who is at fault in this crash, but the fact that the driver of the car involved may face charges speaks volumes. Generally, motorcyclists tend to be very safe drivers who do all they can to avoid a collision. It is the other motorists around them who are not always as careful. If this driver was following too closely or didn’t spot the motorcyclist in their blind spot, they could be charged.
Legal Options for the Victim
As the victim recovers, their family likely has many questions about their legal options. They should consider consulting with a Virginia motorcycle accident lawyer about the victim’s rights to compensation. Should the victim lose the fight for their life, the family may have grounds for a wrongful death lawsuit.
