Elderly Woman Killed in Norfolk Hit-and-Run
An 85-year-old woman has died from the injuries she suffered in a hit-and-run accident earlier this month. Reports indicate that the victim was out for a walk near the Neon District in Norfolk when she was struck by a gray or silver Nissan Altima. The driver fled the scene of the accident. The victim was hospitalized but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The February 8 crash left her initially stable, but the victim’s condition declined in the hospital.
On the Lookout
Police say they are looking for the driver responsible for the incident, but not much is known about the driver at fault. Besides the details about the car, no further information was given. If you know anything about the accident, call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Without additional information, it may be difficult to pursue justice for the victim and their grieving loved ones.
Justice for the Victim
When it comes to hit and run accidents like this one, there is often no resolution. Families of the victims are left empty-handed when it comes to questions of how and why the incident occurred. Should someone come forward with more information, though, the at-fault driver could be located and charged. In such cases, the family and loved ones of the victim should consider consulting with a Virginia car accident attorney. With the right allies, families can seek the justice that their loved one deserves. While nothing can undo the tragedy that has occurred, pursuing the at-fault driver for the costs associated with the medical bills and funeral services can help restore a family’s sense of justice.
