Detectives Search for Driver Responsible for Fatal Norfolk Hit-and-Run

Pneed-an-ambulance-1512594olice are searching for a driver they say may have caused a fatal pedestrian accident in Norfolk this week. The November 30, 2017 wreck occurred around 9:30 PM on South Military Highway. A pedestrian was attempting to cross the road when they were struck by a car. The driver did not stop or attempt to help the victim. Tragically, the victim died as a result of the crash.

Detectives are now searching for the person responsible for the crash. They are reportedly looking for a silver or dark gray Audi sedan with damage to its front end and driver sides. They say the vehicle may be missing a driver’s side mirror. Anyone with information about the accident or the vehicle involved should call the Crimestoppers hotline at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

We send our condolences to the family of the victim. Hit and run drivers are among the most selfish motorists on the road. Accidents are bad enough without the at-fault driver fleeing the scene. Given the time of year, this loss is likely especially difficult. Our thoughts are with the family at this trying time.

In the wake of a hit and run crash, families are often left feeling hollow and robbed of justice. Losing a loved one unexpectedly is always hard, but having no one to take responsibility for the loss make things even more difficult. There are likely a lot of unanswered questions in the minds of the victim’s family, and a Virginia car accident lawyer can help to explain some of the answers.
