Albemarle Motorcycle Accident Leads to Serious Injuries
While many people enjoy driving a motorcycle, the risk of doing so can be high. If an accident happens, the final result is often catastrophic. A recent accident in Albemarle County sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to reports, the accident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. Saturday on Millington Road and Garth Road. A witness noted that the motorcycle collided with the back of a car that had pulled onto Garth Road. Immediately following the accident, emergency crews responded to the scene. At that time, they treated the 26-year-old motorcyclist and then had him transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center via helicopter. The driver of the car was not injured in the accident. Police continue to investigate the cause, hoping to pinpoint what happened and whether or not speed was a factor.
