Student Crossing

Hampton Roads is home to many wonderful colleges and universities, and they bring thousands of bright students to the region. As anyone who has ever been a college student can attest, walking is a huge part of the daily lives of anyone attending classes. Crossing streets from early in the morning to late at night is a must. Unfortunately, drivers are not always as tuned into the habits and patterns of student pedestrians, and are often no more attentive in their driving near campus than anywhere else. Too often, this results in deadly accidents.

Highlighting Your Presence

The number one way pedestrians can protect themselves as they head out for walks after dark or before sunrise is to highlight their presence on the road. Avoiding dark colored clothing is a great start, but anyone walking the dark with any regularity should consider investing in outfits made with reflective material.
