9 Hurt in Hampton Dump Truck Accident on Magruder Blvd; Truck Ran Red Light

According to Hampton Police, the dump truck driver failed to stop at a red light and swerved to avoid hitting other cars. When he did this the truck flipped over hitting seven other stopped vehicles.

Police are saying the injuries are non-life threatening.

Charges are pending.

Nine people have been injured in an accident on Magruder Blvd at Butler Farm Road involving a dump truck.

The accident happened around 10:30 this morning when the dump truck swerved to miss oncoming traffic and then flipped. It was initially reported that two people had been trapped in their vehicle.

The dailypress.com reported that 6 people were treated at the scene, two were taken to the hospital, and one person was transported by Nightingale.

The exact cause of the accident is currently unclear.
