PAGCL l Pain Pump Lawsuits Adding Up l Dangerous Products Lawyer

Pain pumps are small devices used in the post surgical treatment of should injuries. Through a catheter, pain pumps inject anesthetics into the shoulder for approximately 72 hours after the surgery.

Pain pump manufacturers have come under fire lately because they have incorrectly instructed surgeons to inset the catheters directly into the shoulder joint. The Food and Drug Administration never approved of pain pump manufacturers instructions.

With over 100 lawsuits filed in at least 21 states, the litigation is gaining a full head of steam. According to a firm located in Maryland, in recent cases lawyers have made the anesthetic manufacturers just as liable as the pain pump manufacturers. Some of the most popular anesthetic companies include AstraZeneca, Hospira, APP Pharmaceuticals, and Abbott Labs.

Although it is harder to prove guilt, lawyers are still adding them to their depositions because they knew their products were being used in the pain pumps. The safety of the patients should have been examined by pain pump manufacturers and anesthetic manufacturers. Due to the fact that the patient's safety was not considered they acted in a negligent manner.
