Medtronic Pain Pump Recall Considered Class I
A study done by the American Journal of Sports Medicine on The Effect of Local Anesthetics Administered Via Pain Pump on Chondrocyte Viability, has been posted in our Pain Pump Library.
Postoperative intra-articular pain pumps have recently been under investigation by the medical and legal community due to a link between these devices and patients developing Post-Arthroscopic Glenohumeral Chondrolysis.
The purpose of the study is the determine if the volume of the medications administered via pain pump, have an affect on chondrocytes (the cells found in cartilage).
