Man Killed in Henrico County, Virginia Accident
Man Killed in Henrico County, Virginia Accident
Virginia state police have identified Jeremy M. Steen, of Mechanicsburg, Pa as the victim of an accident that occurred at 4:20 p.m. on Interstate 295 in Henrico County, Virginia. Steen was one of three people that exited their vehicle on the right shoulder while they tried to retrieve luggage that had fallen off their car.
A car being driven by Trudy Lynn Williams, 29, of Hopewell, Virginia ran off the right side of the road, struck Steen, two other men, and then their parked vehicle, ejecting the woman inside.
Steen was pronounced dead at the scene, while everyone else involved suffered non-life threatening injures.
The “Virginia Wrongful Death Act” is designed to provide family members compensation for the loss of a loved one caused by someone else’s negligence. Family members may obtain compensation for losses such as sorrow, loss of services, protection and care, fuel expenses, and punishment damages where death results from the unjustifiable conduct or recklessness of the defendant.
