Accident in Virginia Beach on Oceana Boulevard leaves one dead

On August 22, an accident occurred on Oceana Boulevard involving three vehicles. The crash took place at the intersection of Oceana Boulevard and Bells Road at about 8:40 p.m.

Matthew David Montgomery, age 32, of Virginia Beach was driving his 1996 Ford Windstar when he ran into the back of a Ford F-550. The impact from the crash pushed the truck into the southbound lanes resulting in Montgomery being pinned inside his vehicle.

Matthew Montgomery sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident and later died. The passengers in the truck were taken to the hospital and did not sustain serious, life-threatening injuries. Police have reported that Montgomery was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
